The 3rd official selection of the Health for All Film Festival created in 2020 by the World Health Organization is available at www.who.int/film-festival and on WHO’s YouTube channel homepage.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO’s Director-General, declares in this video “Films can help to educate and inspire us, and move us to change the way we think or act, to protect our own health and that of others.” This is the aim of this film festival: a way to contribute to better health for all through powerful stories catalysing awareness and some beneficial behaviour changes.
The public is invited to choose one film in the shortlist and comment on why they like it, using #Film4health in their post. Some comments will be shared at the Awards Ceremony in mid-May 2022.
The third edition of this film festival contains three “Grand Prix” competition categories: Universal health coverage (UHC) – Health emergencies – Better health and well-being. Four other special prizes will also be awarded mid-May: Student prize – Health Innovation film – Rehabilitation film – Very Short Film.
Our expert jury includes this year the American actor Sharon Stone, the British actor Emilia Clarke, the Argentinian actor Mia Maestro, the Nigerian producer Anita Abada, the United Nations SDG advocate from South Africa, Eddie Ndopu, and the German television presenter, Dr Eckart von Hirschhausen.
Please see at end of this video a link to another playlist out of competition dedicated to “Our Planet, Our Health” which is the theme of World Health Day in 2022.
